Posters from the 12th European AIDS Conference Available on HIVandHepatitis.com

SUMMARY: The 12th European AIDS Conference, sponsored by the European AIDS Clinical Society (EACS), took place November 11-14 in Cologne, Germany. The major annual conference focused on HIV/AIDS in Europe, the meeting included numerous presentations on approved and investigational HIV therapies, management of HIV-associated complications and drug side effects, and basic science about the virus and how it affects the body.

HIV and Hepatitis.com features a library of posters and slides from the EACS conference provided by study investigators and pharmaceutical companies. The first set of posters covers the protease inhibitors lopinavir/ritonavir (Kaletra) and darunavir (Prezista), the recently approved non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitor (NNRTI) etravirine (Intelence), and the experimental NNRTI rilpivirine (TMC278).

Other researchers and companies are welcome to send additional posters to be added to the library.

In upcoming issues, HIV and Hepatitis.com will be providing in-depth coverage of some of the key conference presentations, including data on boosted protease inhibitor monotherapy and comparative toxicities of abacavir (Ziagen, also in the Epzicom coformulation) and tenofovir (Viread, also in the Truvada and Atripla coformulations).
