The National Diabetes Data Group (NDDG) has established a different
set of criteria for diagnosing impaired glucose tolerance by using
the oral glucose-tolerance test.1
A fasting result of less than 140 mg/dL indicates impaired
glucose tolerance.
The same holds true if a 2-hour result after a 75 gm glucose
load falls within the range of 140 to 199 mg/dL.
If one intermediate value is 200 mg/dL or more, this is also
diagnostic for impaired glucose tolerance.
