Humanpapillomavirus (HPV)

HUMAN PAPILLOMA VIRUS (HPV) HPV is transmitted through sexual contact and is the virus that causes genital warts and plays a causative role in cervical dysplasia and cervical cancer. There is no specific cure for an HPV infection. Interferon is used in the treatment of refractory or recurrent genital warts. Cryotherapy, laser treatment, or conventional surgery can remove the warts.
