Branched deoxyribonucleic acid (bDNA) testing is one method of measuring the amount of HIV in the blood plasma. Although bDNA testing is not yet FDA-approved for measuring viral load in HIV positive patients, it is nonetheless widely used for this purpose by many physicians.
