Updates HIV and Pregnancy Fact Sheets

of Health and Human Service (DHHS) HIV/AIDS information
clearinghouse, has updated its series of fact sheets
on HIV and Pregnancy to reflect the latest research
data and expert opinion included in current antiretroviral
therapy (ART) guidelines for maternal health and
prevention of mother-to-child HIV transmission.
fact sheets provide information intended especially for HIV-infected
women who are pregnant or thinking about becoming pregnant,
according to a recent AIDSinfo announcement.

May 24, 2010 version of the DHHS Perinatal HIV Guidelines,
for Use of Antiretroviral Drugs in Pregnant HIV-1-Infected
Women for Maternal Health and Interventions to Reduce Perinatal
HIV Transmission in the United States.
in the revised fact sheets include a new sheet on "Mother-to-Child
Transmission of HIV" and additional information on the
safety of anti-HIV medications taken during pregnancy.
The complete series of 6 fact sheets, available in both English
and Spanish, includes:
