U.S.
Government Updates HIV Treatment Guidelines for Children The
U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recently announced the release of the
latest revision of the federal Guidelines for the Use of Antiretroviral Agents
in Pediatric HIV Infection.
The new version does not depart dramatically

Recommended antiretroviral regimens for initial therapy.
Renewed recommendations
regarding nelfinavir (Viramune), which now
meets FDA limits for ethyl methane sulfonate (EMS).
The
full revised guidelines are available online from the Pediatric Guidelines section
of the AIDSinfo Web site. Changes in this revision are highlighted
in yellow throughout the text and tables. There is also a new
version of Supplement I: Pediatric Antiretroviral Drug Information.
Interested
individuals may also request to received the guidelines
by mail or email from the AIDSinfo Order Publications section.
