The 53nd Interscience Conference on Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy (ICAAC 2013) kicked off Tuesday and runs throughout the week in Denver. HIVandHepatitis.com will be on site to cover the latest research on HIV and hepatitis B and C.
ICAAC -- which this year is expected to draw nearly 9000 participants -- covers the full gamut of infectious diseases including HIV, viral hepatitis, human papillomavirus (HPV), other sexually transmitted infections, tuberculosis, and other viral, bacterial, and fungal pathogens.
Key sessions of interest this year include a slide session on antiretroviral agents on Thursday -- including presentations on a new formulation of tenofovir, a next-generation NNRTI dubbed AIC292, and the latest on zinc-finger CD4 cell gene therapy -- and a session on HIV viral coinfections on Friday.
The ICAAC 2013 program and abstracts are available online. Follow breaking news on Twitter via hashtag #ICAAC. Follow HIVandHepatitis.com coverage during the week on our ICAAC 2013 conference page, Facebook page, or via Twitter @HIVandHepatitis.
