President Barack Obama recognized World Aids Day on December 1 by announcing a $50 million increase in funding for HIV care and treatment in the U.S. The bulk of the money -- $35 million -- will supplement state AIDS Drug Assistance Programs (ADAPs), with the remainder going to community clinics funded by the Ryan White CARE Act.alt
